Job summary

Scrums.com is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to lead customer-facing applied AI deployments. You will work with business and technical leaders to identify high-value problems, design solutions, build critical software and take them into production.

You will harness the Scrums.com AI agent and orchestration platform to coordinate across teams and systems. You will design production AI systems, establish guardrails, and mentor engineers while communicating progress and risks to

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with production systems.
• Advanced Python and TypeScript/JavaScript experience.
• Experience delivering AI or data-intensive products into production.
• Strong systems design across APIs, SQL/NoSQL, cloud, security and observability.
• Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation and agent orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with customer stakeholders and convert ambiguous business problems into sequenced deployment plans.
• Design and build production AI systems, agent workflows, data pipelines, integrations and supporting services.
• Own configuration of context, tools, permissions, evaluations, observability and guardrails in the Scrums.com AI agent harness.
• Orchestrate releases, telemetry, engineering work and handover through the orchestration platform.
• Make architecture decisions across models, retrieval, APIs, data stores, cloud services and customer systems.
• Establish evaluation suites and production metrics for quality, reliability, security, latency, adoption and cost.
• Diagnose production issues and lead incident response for customer workflows.
• Mentor engineers, review code and raise the technical standard of the deployment team.
• Communicate trade-offs, progress and risk to engineering teams and executives.
