Job summary

Leonardo UK in Edinburgh is seeking a Lead EMC Engineer to lead a team of EMC engineers and the UKAS accredited test facility, developing and qualifying next generation Radar and Countermeasure systems.

You will drive EMC lifecycle from pre-compliance through to product qualification, align to MIL-STD-461/DO-160, mentor junior staff, and help grow capabilities within a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• EMC requirement definition and flow down.
• EMC design practices relevant to defence and aviation.
• EMC simulation, modelling and analysis.
• Technical support to an EMC Test Team.
• Test plan and test procedure generation and peer review.
• Test report peer review.
• Supporting test readiness of upcoming customers via Test Readiness Reviews.
• EMC point of contact for key customers.
• Guidance on EMC Facility capital spend and audits.

Responsibilities

• A team responsible for early development lifecycle pre compliance through to formal product qualification EMC test.
• EMC engineering activities aligned to standards MIL-STD-461, DO-160 and EFA EMC Specification.
• EMC test covering radiated/conducted emissions, susceptibility, lightning, ESD, NEMP and voltage spike.
• Consulting to internal/external customers on EMC.
• Continuous improvement within the EMC Facility.
• Automation of current work practices to improve efficiency.
• Definition of EMC Facility requirements and planning for future capability.
