Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer for the GCAP project, based in the UK with hybrid working in Edinburgh and Newcastle. The role focuses on electronics development for a radar array subsystem, including design, integration, test, and certification.

You will lead a small team, drive hardware prototyping, lab measurements, debugging, and validation across the full design lifecycle, with UK-site focus and a strong emphasis on hands-on engineering.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or related science.
• Expert in at least one electronics design domain (analog, mixed-signal, digital or power).
• Extensive experience with industry standard tools and lab measurement techniques for complex electronics systems.
• Experience leading a design team and managing work packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead electronics design for radar array subsystem. (design, integration, test).
• Provide technical leadership through full lifecycle and documentation.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (Mechanical, Firmware, Software, Manufacturing).
• Mentor junior engineers and manage work package progress.
