Job summary

Leonardo in Edinburgh is seeking a Project Engineering Lead to drive the AESA radar and Power Core Delivery teams, delivering next‑generation systems on time, to budget and to high quality standards.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, coordinate with stakeholders across sites, maintain lifecycle reviews, and ensure the design rationale and documentation are complete, clear and compliant with all contractual and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Broad experience designing, developing and testing electronic, RF and power systems.
• Knowledge of a typical engineering lifecycle process and business processes.
• Ability to produce clear engineering documentation and communicate effectively.
• Good schedule and budget control.
• Experience communicating with stakeholders across multiple sites.
• Strong leadership skills and team collaboration.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and possibly overseas.

Responsibilities

• Produce effective, realistic plans delivering solutions with stakeholders.
• Implement lifecycle management processes including design & gate reviews.
• Agree qualification & acceptance criteria and design certification with the System Design Authority.
• Validate targets for design maturity and deliver monthly Project Performance Reviews.
• Promote streamlined ways of working across the engineering lifecycle.
• Maintain communication across the IPT and senior management, managing issues.
• Support supplier management and make-or-buy decisions.
• Control project configuration and change management.
• Collaborate with the Engineering team and Project Manager to resolve conflicts.
• Ensure the design rationale is fully documented.
