Job summary

Ian Williams Ltd is seeking a conscientious Lead Electrician to head our trades team on social housing contracts in the Midlands. You will conduct on-going electrical testing (EICRs) in occupied residential properties and sign off electrical certification for other electricians, while ensuring installations around kitchens and bathrooms meet high standards.

You should hold NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation with AM2, 2391 and 18th edition; a full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation and AM2 essential.
• 2391 Testing and Inspection essential.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete ongoing electrical testing (EICRs) and repairs within occupied residential properties.
• Check and sign off electrical certification conducted by other electricians; notify building control of new installations.
• Ensure installations around kitchens and bathrooms meet quality standards and post inspections are completed.
• Validate electrical repairs, small works, and test & inspections.

The Lead Electrician role:

• Complete on-going electrical testing (EICRs) and repairs within occupied residential properties
• As a Lead Electrician, you will also be responsible for checking and signing off electrical certification conducted by the other electricians as well as notifying building control of any new installation works.
• Ensuring installations of works surrounding kitchens & bathrooms are completed to a quality standard and post inspections are completed.
• Validation on electrical repairs, small works, and test & inspections

What will you bring as a Lead Electrician?

• Qualified to an NVQ level 3 Electrical Installation, and AM2 is essential.
• 2391 - Testing and Inspection is essential
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is essential.
• Experience working within a domestic environment, and comfortable working within occupied residential properties.
• Flexibility and a can-do attitude, with the occasional requirement to be part of our on-call rota for emergency out of hours electrical work.
• Strong customer facing skills are essential, as you often be the face of the business from our customers perspective
• A full UK Driving License is essential for this role.
