Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting for an EICA engineer within the Water Utilities Division. You will lead electrical, instrumentation and control design across nationally significant projects, collaborating with teams, clients and contractors.

You will mentor junior staff, develop design solutions, and contribute to technical excellence while pursuing professional registration where applicable. A hybrid working approach is supported across UK offices.

Qualifications

• Qualified to HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in electrical and/or control engineering design.
• Experience leading and taking technical ownership of EICA design activities on projects.
• Thorough approach to engineering design and strong technical judgement.
• Commitment to excellence, innovation, and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead EICA project teams and shape key design decisions.
• Collaborate with local and international colleagues, the client and contractors.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the overall technical excellence of the team and projects.
• Develop plant layouts, cabling, and installation design.
• Write system control strategies and functional descriptions.
• Support commissioning and tests of equipment.
