Job summary

Access Talent Group is recruiting a Lead Design EICA Engineer to design, specify and support electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems for water/wastewater and utilities projects across the UK. You will guide design through from early design to commissioning, ensuring safe, compliant operation of assets and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. A flexible hybrid/remote setup is available depending on project needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Control/Instrumentation Engineering or related discipline.
Ideally Chartered with a UK professional body (e.g. IET).
Proven experience in electrical design, power distribution, protection, control & instrumentation.

Responsibilities

Develop electrical system designs: single-line diagrams, distribution layouts, load schedules, protection studies, earthing, cable sizing.
Specify electrical equipment: switchgear, transformers, MCCs, control panels and distribution boards.
Design interfaces: PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, telemetry and power supplies.
Carry out load calculations, fault-level and short-circuit analysis, harmonic studies as needed.
Prepare specifications, procurement docs, vendor evaluations and scopes-of-work for subcontractors.
Support site activities: surveys, construction supervision, commissioning and handover.
Collaborate with mechanical, civil, process, control teams and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with BS/IEC standards, low/medium voltage regulations and UK requirements.
Contribute to cost estimation, risk assessment and project documentation.
