Job summary

Kier Group in Salford is seeking a Chartered Principal Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) Engineer to join Kier Design's water sector team.

You will lead EICA design across water, wastewater and infrastructure projects, provide technical assurance, mentor engineers, and shape engineering standards. This role offers significant scope for impact and collaboration with clients and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Chartered with a recognised professional institution.
• Experience in electrical, instrumentation, control and automation design across water or infrastructure projects.
• Capable of leading multidisciplinary design projects and providing technical assurance.
• A strong communicator who enjoys mentoring and supporting team development.

Responsibilities

• Lead EICA design from feasibility through to detailed design.
• Reviewing, checking and approving design deliverables to ensure technical robustness and compliance.
• Coordinating with MCC manufacturers, system integrators and the wider design team.
• Providing technical support to site and commissioning teams, resolving design queries during construction.
• Mentoring engineers, contributing to technical training and supporting the development of standards and templates.
