Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced EICA Engineer to shape infrastructure projects in the UK. You will deliver design inputs, review and prepare critical deliverables, and support tender evaluations across diverse teams.

The role requires a Chartered Engineer with extensive EICA background, DSEAR knowledge, and strong client-facing abilities. Travel to sites for surveys and tests will be expected, ensuring safety and quality standards throughout.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified (IET accredited) in electrical or control engineering or HND with substantial experience.
• Professional registration with the Engineering Council as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer.
• Extensive experience in EICA engineering design for water infrastructure including deliverables such as specs, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules and control philosophies.
• Knowledgeable about DSEAR, electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres, and CDM regulations for installations.
• Strong client-facing skills; able to work with clients, WSP teams, or independently.
• Willing to travel to operations and construction sites for surveys, inspections and testing while ensuring safety.
• Practical understanding of electrical safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver EICA design inputs for infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review EICA deliverables (specifications, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules, control philosophies, user specs and network drawings).
• Review and execute tender evaluations.
• Assist in proposals, scoping, resourcing and time estimates.
• Understand installations related to DSEAR and EICA equipment in explosive atmospheres.
• Participate in inspections, testing, setting to work and commissioning stages.
• Attend factory acceptance tests for panel, PLC/HMI software and SCADA.
• Coach and mentor ICA discipline staff.
