Job summary

Kier Group in Salford is seeking a Chartered Principal EICA Engineer to join the Kier Design team in the water sector. You will lead electrical, instrumentation, control and automation design across water projects, mentor junior staff, and provide technical assurance throughout the design lifecycle.

The role offers flexible hours and a starting salary of £55,000 per year, with opportunities to shape engineering standards and collaborate with clients and construction teams on innovative water

Qualifications

• Chartered status with a recognised professional institution.
• Experience in electrical, instrumentation, control and automation design across water or infrastructure projects.
• Capable of leading multidisciplinary design projects and providing technical assurance.
• Able to produce and review design deliverables including control philosophies, electrical load assessments, equipment specifications and technical reports.
• Strong communicator with mentoring and team-development skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production and delivery of EICA designs from feasibility through to detailed design.
• Reviewing, checking and approving design deliverables to ensure technical robustness and compliance.
• Coordinating with MCC manufacturers, system integrators and the wider design team.
• Providing technical support to site and commissioning teams, resolving design queries during construction.
• Mentoring engineers, contributing to technical training and supporting the development of standards and templates.
