Leonardo UK is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to shape automated delivery and secure software pipelines across UK missions. The role is based on-site at customer sites in Gloucestershire, with clearance considerations and opportunities to influence roadmaps and governance.

You will lead, mentor and collaborate with engineers to deliver robust DevOps solutions, while aligning with accreditation and security requirements in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Qualifications

• Recognised expertise as a technical authority in DevOps and automation.
• Ability to influence technical strategy and represent Leonardo externally.
• Strong communication skills to engage with engineers and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for DevOps across programmes.
• Define and influence DevOps roadmaps and automation strategies.
• Lead feasibility studies and solution recommendations for complex challenges.
• Provide advanced guidance in CI/CD, IaC, and container orchestration.
• Mentor engineers to raise capability within the DevOps community.
• Represent Leonardo at customer reviews and industry events.
• Contribute input to bids and technical strategy.
• Champion secure-by-design principles and governance.
