Leonardo UK seeks a Principal DevOps Engineer to lead automation and platform engineering across secure programmes. The role focuses on developing, deploying, operating and improving automated platform solutions for critical defence and government services.

Based from Bristol with work at Yeovil and other secure sites, the role requires on-site delivery and potential flexible arrangements where programme and security constraints permit.

Qualifikationen

• Extensive DevOps and platform engineering experience in secure/regulated environments.
• Ability to lead automation across multiple projects and programmes.
• Strong expertise in CI/CD design, IaC, and secure deployment pipelines.
• Proven experience with container platforms and orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Experience with DevSecOps and embedding security controls in delivery lifecycles.

Aufgaben

• Act as technical authority for automation and platform engineering practices.
• Lead design and improvement of CI/CD pipelines and IaC solutions.
• Develop secure deployment pipelines for controlled environments.
• Collaborate with Platform, Security and Project teams to automate infra and apps.
• Drive DevSecOps adoption, implementing security across delivery lifecycles.
• Capture requirements and produce designs for work packages and delivery.
• Provide technical leadership, planning, estimation and reporting.
• Mentor engineers to raise capability across the organisation.
• Support assessments, innovation activities and future capability planning.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders to present solutions.
