Job summary

Waracle in the UK is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to drive strategy across cloud platforms, CI/CD, and modern infrastructure. You’ll mentor engineers, define architecture, and lead the integration of AI-driven delivery practices within client projects.

The role is hybrid with offices in Glasgow, Dundee or London, two days per week. You will guide security, governance, and operational excellence while fostering an inclusive, high-performing technical culture.

Qualifications

• Versatile, generalist engineering background across cloud platforms, CI/CD, containerisation, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience guiding technical direction and architecture for cloud/platform solutions.
• Mentorship, coaching, and fostering inclusive team dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Define technical architecture across squads and drive adoption of AI tooling and automation.
• Lead integration of Generative AI tooling into delivery workflows.
• Mentor engineers and ensure secure, scalable cloud architectures.
• Bridge software delivery, platform operations, and data infrastructure for clients.
• Maintain standards for security, compliance (OWASP, GDPR, SOC2) and clean code.
