Waracle is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our world-class digital technology consultancy. You will lead across engineering squads, define technical architecture, and drive AI-driven delivery practices in cloud environments.

This hybrid role is based in Glasgow, Dundee or London, with 2 days in the office each week. You will mentor engineers, champion secure, scalable solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-impact, maintainable platforms.

Qualifications

• Broad generalist engineering background across cloud platforms, CI/CD, containerisation and IaC.
• Experience integrating Generative AI and AI-assisted development tools into delivery streams.
• Proven experience guiding technical direction and architecture for cloud and platform solutions.
• Strong mentorship and coaching skills.
• Commitment to fostering inclusive, collaborative team dynamics that prioritise wellbeing.
• Knowledge of security, accessibility, and compliance standards (OWASP, GDPR, SOC2).

Responsibilities

• Define project-level technical architecture across squads and drive adoption of AI tooling and automation.
• Mentor and uplift engineers, maintaining a psychologically safe, high-performing culture.
• De-escalate conflicts, align client stakeholders, and translate priorities into actionable strategy.
• Lead delivery tooling improvements and guide secure code execution and best practices across teams.
