Job summary

Equans in Hatfield is seeking a Design Manager to lead design from pre-construction through to construction, taking full technical responsibility for allocated projects. The role includes providing design and technical support during tendering and may include line management of junior coordinators.

The package includes a salary of £65,000- £75,000, a company vehicle and a broad benefits scheme. A strong background in HRBs refurbishment and cladding is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Detailed understanding of all major construction forms and detailing (RC, Timber, Structural Steel, Loadbearing Masonry).
• Experience supporting single and two stage tendering processes.
• Working knowledge of JCT, PPC and NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead design from pre-construction through to construction and take full technical responsibility for allocated projects.
• Provide design and technical support during tendering.
• Possibly line manage Assistant/ Senior Design Coordinators.
