Job summary

PSR Solutions is recruiting a Design Manager in Derbyshire to lead design across multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion. You will coordinate architects, engineers and contractors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with strict adherence to standards.

The role requires strong design coordination, excellent communication, and experience across residential, industrial, commercial or education sectors. Derby-based with a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Design Manager role within the construction industry.
• Experience working on projects in residential, industrial, commercial or education sectors.
• Strong technical and design coordination knowledge.
• Good understanding of construction methods and buildability.
• Experience managing consultants and design teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to demanding project programmes.
• A relevant construction/design qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage design process from pre-construction through to project completion.
• Coordinate architects, consultants, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review and challenge designs for compliance, buildability and viability.
• Manage design programmes, deliverables and approvals.
• Identify and resolve design issues and risks.
• Work with Commercial and Pre-Construction teams.
• Lead design coordination meetings and RFI/technical queries.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and project specs.
• Support value engineering and design development.
