Job summary

Cpl Group is seeking experienced Senior Support Workers to join complex care services across England. These hands-on roles combine direct support with shift leadership, working in 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 staffing environments to deliver person-centred care and safeguard procedures.

You will lead shifts, support colleagues, implement PBS strategies, manage incidents, and ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed.

Qualifications

• Significant experience supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
• Experience in high-acuity care packages operating at 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 staffing levels.
• Strong understanding of behavioural management and PBS.
• Experience managing incidents involving aggression and escalation.
• Demonstrable experience using effective de-escalation techniques.
• Experience implementing risk assessments and behavioural support plans.
• Experience mentoring or supervising other care staff.
• Good knowledge of safeguarding, DoLS and least restrictive practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred support in line with individual care plans.
• Act as a senior member of the team, guiding Support Workers during shifts.
• Coordinate staff within 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 care arrangements.
• Identify early signs of escalation and apply preventative strategies.
• Lead staff during incidents involving aggression or high risk behaviours.
• Promote de-escalation techniques and least restrictive practices.
• Ensure any authorised physical intervention is carried out safely.
• Monitor practice and challenge unsafe or inconsistent approaches.
• Support post-incident reviews and learning opportunities.
• Complete and oversee incident reports, observations and records.
• Assist with induction, mentoring and development of new staff.
• Escalate concerns to management and relevant professionals.
• Promote dignity, independence, and inclusion for all individuals.
