Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil design for Scotland's water programme from feasibility through construction. Based in Glasgow with hybrid working, you will drive technical quality, coordinate with multi-discipline teams and manage client expectations.

You will mentor engineers, develop fee proposals, and support programme management while delivering compliant, deliverable infrastructure across water and wastewater schemes.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or working towards (ICE or equivalent).
• Experience delivering civil design in the UK water sector or regulated infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of treatment works, pumping stations and pipelines.
• Experience leading technical delivery on multidisciplinary projects.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D; familiarity with InfoDrainage or similar tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; mentoring capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design for water treatment works, pumping stations and networks.
• Own technical quality, programme and client outcomes on projects.
• Produce/check calculations, drawings, specs and reports from feasibility to construction.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical and structural teams.
• Support consents, approvals and relationships with authorities and SEPA.
• Contribute to fee proposals, resource planning and programme management.
• Mentor junior engineers and strengthen delivery across the team.
