Job summary

Ramboll Group in the UK seeks an experienced Civil & Structural Engineer to lead T&D technical delivery and design management on landmark power infrastructure projects. You will mentor engineers, shape proposals, and act as the technical authority on major T&D initiatives.

The role combines leadership, training, and client-facing support, with opportunities to influence strategy and grow the T&D capability across the business.

Qualifications

• Degree (BEng / MEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng MIStructE).
• 10+ years' experience in civil & structural engineering with T&D exposure.
• Proven experience in Transmission & Distribution infrastructure, including substations and power networks.
• Experience working with National Grid and UK DNOs (e.g., UK Power Networks, SSEN, SPEN, WPD).
• Experience in framework delivery environments.
• Demonstrable experience as a Lead Engineer, Design Manager, or Technical Lead.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and design leadership for T&D projects.
• Oversee substations, OHL foundations, cable routes and related T&D infra.
• Ensure compliance with UK standards, Eurocodes, and CDM Health & Safety.
• Develop and deliver training for civil/structural engineers in T&D.
• Support client meetings, bid activities, and marketing with technical input.
• Contribute to project planning, resourcing, and risk management.
• Promote innovation and design efficiency in T&D service offering.
