Job summary

Ramboll is seeking an experienced Civil & Structural Engineer to lead and grow our Transmission & Distribution capability in the UK. This role combines technical leadership, design management, training, and client-facing support on major UK power infrastructure projects.

You will act as Design Manager/Lead Engineer, mentor engineers, attend client and bid meetings, shape proposals, and help develop the T&D service line.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng).
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng/MIStructE).
• 10+ years' civil/structural engineering with T&D exposure.
• Experience with National Grid and DNOs (UK).
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineers.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Act as Design Manager / Lead Engineer for T&D civil and structural projects.
• Lead design delivery for substations, OHL foundations, cable routes, and T&D infra.
• Ensure compliance with UK standards, Eurocodes, and DNO specs.
• Review and mentor designs by junior engineers; manage design risk.
• Attend client, bid, and marketing meetings as senior technical representative.
• Support bid strategy, scope definition, technical proposals, cost and programme input.
• Build long-term relationships with DNOs, National Grid, ICPs, and EPC contractors.
