Job summary

Compass Group UK&I ESS is seeking an ambitious Chef to deliver high-quality food for Defence on a full-time basis (37.5 hours/week). You will lead a kitchen team, implement menu changes, and drive improvements in service while representing a prominent UK food service provider.

You will apply your culinary skills to create new menus, listen to customer feedback, manage inventories, and ensure hygiene and safety standards across the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Experience supervising a team in a kitchen environment.
• Experience in a similar Chef role with demonstrated cooking skills.
• Hold a Food Hygiene certificate.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve food services.
• Listening to customer feedback to improve services.
• Supporting creation of new menus and culinary concepts.
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep kitchens well-stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
• Demonstrating passion for great-tasting food and customer service.
