Job summary

Amey is seeking a permanent Principal Building Structures Engineer to join the Advisory team within Consulting across the UK. You will lead a team delivering structural solutions for multi-discipline schemes and nuclear projects, applying Eurocodes and Building Regulations to ensure quality and compliance.

You will manage design production, costs and client liaison, with opportunities to grow into bids and on-site roles across Birmingham, Telford, Manchester, Stafford, Sheffield and Bristol.

Qualifications

• Lead a team of engineers delivering technically sound outputs.
• Provide technical leadership ensuring compliance with standards.
• Experience with structural Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to support delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team, producing technically robust designs, calculations and drawings.
• Check designs and documentation to satisfy quality, cost and programme.
• Oversee budgets and cost control for project deliverables.
• Liaise with clients and suppliers, attend progress meetings.
• Support bids and work-winning activities.
• On-site work and out-of-hours as required.
