Job summary

Amey is recruiting a permanent Building Structures Engineer to join our Advisory team within Consulting. The role covers delivering technically robust outputs for the Built Environment portfolio, including multi-discipline projects, with opportunities to work across sites in the UK.

You will bring demonstrable building structures experience, knowledge of Eurocodes and Building Regulations, and experience using 3D CAD and Tekla tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering building structures designs and calculations.
• Familiarity with structural Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
• Experience coordinating with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Producing technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements, working unsupervised and supervising more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks
• The preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation as part of the production of scheme deliverables that satisfy the overarching criteria of quality, cost and programme. Overseeing the actions of more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks and taking responsibility for their actions
• Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings, responding to queries etc.
• Significantly contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work winning function
• Working on site, either on a visiting basis or in a full time but temporary role and including out of hours working
