Job summary

Celebrity Cruises seeks an experienced CDP Baker to lead bakery operations aboard our ship. You will oversee production, quality, and presentation of the bread assortment for daily menus, forecast production, and minimize waste while controlling costs.

You will coach staff, ensure timely arrivals, and maintain strict hygiene and safety standards in line with USPH rules. Ideal candidate has shipboard experience, culinary school degree, and strong management, communication, and problem-solving

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience as a CDP Baker in upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service (shipboard experience preferred).
• A culinary school degree is required.
• Very strong management, communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge of personalized service principles and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
• Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, and evaluating skills.
• Intermediate computer software skills.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Ensures smooth and efficient operation and control of Bakery Shop and production daily according to company policies.
• Directs, coaches, supports, supervises, and evaluates direct reports.
• Responsible for production, quality, and presentation of bread assortment for daily menus.
• Prepares production forecasts and records leftovers to control waste and costs.
• Supervise bakery display setup across buffets.
• Ensure compliance with US Public Health rules and regulations daily.
• Ensure bakery and pantry areas are ready for USPH inspections.
• Manage requisition and transport of items from main stores to bakery shop.
• Ensure recipes/master lists and yields meet company standards.
• Complete daily production recap and coach/train team members.
