Job summary

Dyson in Malmesbury seeks a Lead/Associate Principal Automation & Verification Engineer to join the Motor Test Systems Team. This hands-on role will design, develop and continuously improve automated test systems for motor R&D.

You will act as a technical expert in automation, control and test software, mentor engineers and deliver complex verification solutions that enhance laboratory capability and engineering quality.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics or related discipline.
• Extensive experience developing automated test systems in engineering environments.
• Expert-level LabVIEW development experience.
• Strong experience with Python and C/C++.
• Excellent understanding of automation, control systems and data acquisition.
• Experience delivering complex projects from concept to implementation.
• Practical understanding of electronics, instrumentation and fault-finding.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and commission automated verification systems and test equipment.
• Develop software for test automation, instrumentation, data acquisition and control applications.
• Lead the technical delivery of complex automation and capability improvement projects.
• Investigate and resolve challenging issues across software, hardware and instrumentation.
• Mentor verification engineers and junior staff.
• Drive improvements to lab capabilities and equipment reliability.
