You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams and apply 2D/3D FEA, MATLAB/Simulink simulations, and practical engineering know‑how to deliver innovative, IP‑driven solutions within project timelines.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of electromagnetic machine design theory
- Extensive experience with 2D/3D static and transient EM FEA (preferably MAGNET)
- Experience in permanent magnet motors and soft/hard magnetic materials
- Awareness of motor control techniques for various speed ranges
- Experience in testing and verification of electric motors
- Appreciation of manufacturability in design
Responsibilities
- Participate in design of electromagnetic and motor control solutions
- Contribute to product concept understanding and use latest technologies
- Design and develop high-performance motor topologies and control methods
- Use FEA to model brushless motor designs
- Develop dynamic power system models in MATLAB/Simulink
- Test and verify new motor drive designs
- Collaborate with Dyson engineers across functions
- Communicate results to project stakeholders
- Plan and manage time using project tools
- Support team collaboration
