Job summary

Collinson Group invites applications for a Principal Engineer to lead the technical direction of our API pillar. You will set architectural vision, guide multiple squads, and write hands-on code in a cloud-native, event-driven stack.

The role emphasizes Kafka/Salesforce experience and modern engineering practices. You will champion SOLID principles, automated testing with Jest/Pact, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and IaC with Terraform/Helm, while driving observability with DataDog and collaborating

Qualifications

• Experience designing large, distributed, data-driven systems in the cloud.
• Experience leading an engineering team or squad.
• Solid understanding of modern software practices (SOLID, automated testing, CI/CD).
• Ability to architect scalable solutions and solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership: set the pillar's strategy and guide multiple squads.
• Hands-on architecture & development: design and develop complex systems with real code.
• Ensure engineering consistency: promote best practices, security, performance and observability.
• Mentor and coach engineers to grow their potential.
• Champion modern practices and observability with DataDog and other tools.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Delivery Managers and Engineering Managers to align technical direction with business needs.
