Job summary

The Client Group is seeking a Senior/Lead Software Engineer to lead AI-enabled software and DevOps initiatives in London. You will shape API-first architectures, guide integration, and push modern, service-based designs across platforms.

Collaborate with architects, data scientists, and platform engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet security, resilience, and performance standards while advancing engineering practices across teams.

Qualifications

• Senior or Lead Software Engineer or similar leadership role.
• Strong design, clean code, testing and maintainability.
• Experience designing/API-driven microservices.
• Modernise or integrate legacy apps into modern architectures.
• Develop with TypeScript and Python.
• Experience across delivery, infrastructure, CI/CD and operations.
• Ability to lead without formal authority.
• Balance innovation with pragmatism in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across AI-enabled software and DevOps teams.
• Set architectural direction for API-first design and platform enablement for AI.
• Lead evolution of legacy apps toward service-based architectures.
• Define integration patterns between apps, platforms, and AI services.
• Decide on emerging integration approaches (e.g., MCP) where appropriate.
• Collaborate with architects, product teams, data scientists, and platform engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Ensure security, resilience, performance and operability of solutions.
• Anticipate and manage architectural/operational risks in AI-enabled systems.
• Champion strong engineering practices across software, DevOps and platform engineering.
