Job summary

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced acute speech and language therapist for maternity cover at Scunthorpe General Hospital or Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby. The role supports in-patients with acquired swallowing disorders across multiple specialties, working with medical, nursing and therapy colleagues.

The post involves day-to-day planning, coordination, monitoring, evaluation and delivery of SLT services in the acute setting, including

Qualifications

• Experience in managing patients with swallowing disorders, preferably with instrumental assessment (FEES and/or Videofluoroscopy).
• Ability to lead and support service delivery and quality improvement in SLT.
• Ability to work across two hospital sites and coordinate clinical activity.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, monitor, evaluate and deliver SLT services in the acute setting.
• Provide on-ward SLT assessment and intervention for adults with acquired swallowing disorders.
• Lead on cross-site service delivery, with opportunities to contribute to research and development.
