Job summary
Barnsley Hospital in South Yorkshire is seeking a Highly Specialist Adult Speech & Language Therapist to join as Team Lead within our acute hospital services. You will provide expert assessment and management of adults with complex dysphagia and communication impairments across multiple specialties.
As Team Lead you will provide clinical leadership to the SLT team and MDT, support evidence-based practice, lead service development and quality improvement, and contribute to implementing NHS
Qualifications
- Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or equivalent.
- RCSLT Certificate to Practice as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council (HCPC).
- Postgraduate Certificate/accreditation in adult dysphagia.
- Advanced Postgraduate Certificate in Adult Dysphagia.
Responsibilities
- Provide a highly specialist service for adults with dysphagia and communication disorders.
- Develop, provide and participate in training and support for other professionals.
- Oversee clinical input to adults with dysphagia and communication difficulties; advise clients, carers and professionals.
- Hold responsibility for own caseload and evaluate clinical work and team practice with audits and projects.
- Participate in innovations in therapy services, risk management and quality standards.
