Job summary

Octane Recruitment has partnered with a leading fleet organisation to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician/Van Technician for their Derby workshop.

Role covers diagnosing, repairing and maintaining light commercial vehicles, with a £1,500 sign-on bonus, no weekends, and a clear progression path to Master Technician. Competitive hourly rate £15-£16ph and a strong work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (NVQ / City & Guilds / IMI) or equivalent.
• Minimum three years' workshop experience.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of Light Commercial Vehicles.
• Carry out mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic work.
• Complete routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT.
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate job cards and service documentation.
• Work collaboratively within a skilled workshop team.

Salary: DOE+ £1,500 Sign‑On Bonus

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm (No weekends)
