Job summary

Streamlineservices in Tilbury is seeking an Import Operator to join the busy imports team, managing LCL deep-sea shipments from arrival to final delivery and coordinating with customers, shipping lines and depots. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, organisation, and clear communication are essential.

The role also involves invoicing and liaising with partners across the supply chain to ensure smooth delivery.

Qualifications

Two years' freight forwarding experience minimum.
Solid experience handling deep-sea imports, especially LCL.
Airfreight imports experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day LCL import shipments from arrival to delivery.
Monitor vessel schedules and track shipments.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, shipping lines, hauliers and depots.
Arrange collections and deliveries per customer requirements.
Open and maintain internal shipment files.
Prepare customer invoices and process supplier invoices.
Keep customers updated throughout the import process.
Ensure deliveries are organized efficiently and within timescales.
Follow up with customers after delivery to ensure a positive service experience.
Identify and resolve operational issues promptly.
Support the wider imports team as required.
