Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is launching a new distribution site in Burnley. We are seeking a Shift Operations Manager to build the operation from day one, lead frontline leaders, and drive safety, performance and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will oversee a large operational area, shape a high-performing culture, and deliver KPIs while developing talent and ensuring service excellence. This is a full-time, permanent role with a 4 on/4 off shift pattern; hours are to be confirmed.

Qualifications

• Proven operational leadership experience within logistics, warehousing, e-commerce or distribution.
• Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams.
• Experience delivering against KPIs, labour plans and productivity targets in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive approach to problem solving, with the ability to analyse data and drive improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire Team Managers and operational colleagues to deliver outstanding performance and service.
• Drive a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• Deliver operational KPI, productivity, quality and budget targets while maintaining exceptional service levels.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and performance.
• Develop, coach and support your leadership team, creating a culture of engagement, accountability and succession planning.
