Job summary

DRW in London is seeking a Cloud Performance Engineer to design high-performance cloud architectures for trading workloads. You will join the Cloud Performance Team, collaborating with cloud engineers, software developers, and network engineers to optimize end-to-end performance.

The role emphasizes automation, IaC with Terraform, and experience with AWS services. A strong Linux background and scripting in Bash and Python are beneficial.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience with AWS, including EC2, VPC and Direct Connect, IAM concepts.
  • Experience using Terraform to manage cloud infra and compute/network resources (Docker, Kubernetes, Cisco devices).
  • Solid Linux fundamentals and the Linux network stack.
  • Automation via Bash scripting and Python, with serverless orchestration experience.
  • Experience with AI coding agents balancing prototyping with code quality.
  • Security-first mindset, following firm-wide security policies.
  • Strong problem-solving and ability to drive work to completion.
  • Strong cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement latency-sensitive cloud and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Build and maintain systems to monitor latency of distributed workloads.
  • Develop orchestration tooling for provisioning cloud resources and networking configurations.
  • Create backend systems to collect performance metrics and queries.
