Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a Cloud Performance Engineer to design and optimise high-performance cloud infrastructure for latency-sensitive workloads across AWS and hybrid environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning cloud, networking, Linux, and automation to push performance and reliability.

Ideal candidates have deep AWS experience (EC2, VPC), strong networking, Terraform, and Linux scripting skills, plus Docker/Kubernetes and a proactive approach

Qualifications

Strong AWS experience, particularly EC2, VPC and Direct Connect.
Solid networking background – TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing & switching.
Experience with Cisco networking.
Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
Strong Linux skills and understanding of the Linux network stack.
Python and Bash scripting.
Experience with Docker / Kubernetes.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design and optimise AWS and hybrid cloud environments.
Work across cloud networking, routing and switching.
Build and maintain performance and latency monitoring.
Automate cloud infrastructure and network configurations.
Develop tooling to collect and analyse performance metrics.
Troubleshoot performance issues across cloud, network and Linux systems.
