Job summary

Mars Recruitment is seeking a Laser Applications Engineer in Didcot to join a high-performance laboratory team. You will develop laser micromachining processes for customers and run production work on state-of-the-art laser systems.

The role suits graduates in Lasers, Optical Engineering or Physics with practical experience; knowledge of laser micro-machining, machine control software, metrology and optics is valued. IT skills and industrial exposure are a plus.

Qualifications

Good degree or MSc in Lasers or Optical Engineering or Physics or Engineering or similar qualification plus equivalent practical experience
Practical laser applications, especially micromachining is advantageous
Knowledge: Laser micro-machining, integration and test of complex laser systems, machine control software or programming, materials science, metrology, microscopes, SEMs, optical systems
Good computer and IT skills
Industrial experience preferred

Responsibilities

Develop laser micromachining processes for customers.
Run production work for customers using state-of-the-art laser systems.
Work with high-performance laser systems spanning UV to IR and various pulse durations.
Collaborate with the Laboratory team to deliver demanding micromachining tasks.
