Job summary

Mars is seeking a Laser Applications Engineer in Didcot to join a high‑performance laboratory team. You will develop laser micromachining processes for customers and run production work on state‑of‑the‑art laser systems spanning UV to IR with femtosecond to nanosecond pulses.

The role suits a graduate in Lasers, Optical Engineering, Physics or Engineering or someone with two+ years in industry, who has practical hands‑on lab experience and an interest in laser technology.

Qualifications

• Degree or MSc in Lasers/Optical Engineering/Physics/Engineering with practical experience.
• Experience in laser micromachining is advantageous.
• Knowledge of machine control software or programming, optics and metrology.

Responsibilities

• Develop laser micromachining processes for customers.
• Run production work for customers.
• Work with state‑of‑the‑art laser systems across UV to IR and femtosecond to nanosecond pulses.
