Job summary

Mars Recruitment is recruiting a Laser Applications Engineer for our Didcot-based team. You will develop laser micromachining processes for customers and run production work on state-of-the-art laser systems spanning UV to IR with femtosecond to nanosecond pulses.

The role requires a degree or MSc in Lasers/Optical Engineering/Physics or Engineering plus practical experience, with strong IT skills and hands-on lab capabilities. Industrial experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or MSc in lasers/optical engineering/physics or engineering with practical experience
• Experience with laser micromachining is advantageous
• Knowledge of laser micro-machining, integration and test of laser systems, machine control software, materials science, metrology and optical systems
• Good computer and IT skills
• Industrial experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop laser micromachining processes for customers
• Run production work for customers
• Work with state-of-the-art laser systems (UV to IR, fs/picosecond/nanosecond)
• Hands-on laboratory role in a high performing team
