Job summary

Mars is expanding its Laser Applications team in Didcot and seeks a capable Laser Applications Engineer. The role targets graduates with a passion for lasers or professionals with two or more years of industry experience.

You will join a high-performance laboratory and apply laser micromachining methods to real customer applications. You will work with UV to IR wavelengths and ultrafast pulse durations, integrating and testing complex laser systems while developing robust production processes.

Qualifications

• Good degree or MSc in Lasers or Optical Engineering or Physics or Engineering or similar qualification plus equivalent practical experience
• Practical laser applications, especially micromachining is advantageous
• Knowledge of laser micro-machining, integration and test of complex laser systems
• Good computer and IT skills
• Industrial experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop laser micromachining processes for customers.
• Run production work for clients.
• Operate state-of-the-art laser systems across UV to IR and femtosecond/picosecond/nanosecond regimes.
