Job summary

Mars is seeking a graduate Laser Applications Engineer to join a high performing Laboratory team in Didcot. Develop laser micromachining processes for customers and run production work on state-of-the-art laser systems spanning UV to IR with femtosecond to nanosecond pulses.

Candidates should have a good degree or MSc in Lasers, Optical Engineering, Physics or Engineering, practical laser applications experience, and strong IT skills.

Qualifications

• Good degree or MSc in Lasers or Optical Engineering or Physics or Engineering with practical experience
• Practical laser applications, especially micromachining, is advantageous
• Knowledge of laser micro-machining, integration/test of complex laser systems and optical setups

Responsibilities

• Develop laser micromachining processes for customers and run production work
• Work with state-of-the-art laser systems spanning UV to IR and various pulse durations
• Collaborate with a high performing Laboratory team to deliver results
