Job summary

Mars is seeking a Laser Applications Engineer in Didcot. The role targets graduates in Lasers, Optical Engineering or Physics or engineers with two+ years of industry experience.

You will develop laser micromachining processes for customers and run production work on state‑of‑the‑art laser systems with UV to IR wavelengths and femtosecond to nanosecond pulses. Qualifications

• Degree (or MSc) in Lasers/Optical Engineering/Physics/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on laser applications and micromachining experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of laser micro-machining, optical systems, metrology, SEMs, and lab testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop laser micromachining processes for customers and run production work.
• Work with state-of-the-art laser systems across UV to IR with various pulse durations.
• Hands-on testing, integration and validation of complex laser systems.
