Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Christchurch is seeking a LabVIEW Electronics Engineer to drive the introduction of new products to production, support production lines, and ensure services are available to manufacturing.

You will work with Engineering on DFM/testability/manufacturability, develop manufacturing processes, design assembly jigs, layout cells, and maintain build guides while applying lean improvements and LabVIEW expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a similar electro-mechanical manufacturing role (low/medium/high volume).
• Experience with DFM/testability/manufacturability and design of new products.
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, SolidWorks).
• Knowledge of ERP systems and material processing processes.
• Team player with good communication across departments.
• Electrical fault finding skills and testing box/circuit design.
• Understanding of LabVIEW software.

Responsibilities

• Introduce new products to production and support current production lines.
• Develop new manufacturing processes and build guides.
• Design and produce assembly jigs and fixtures including electrical test boxes.
• Layout manufacturing cells with all tooling and services.
• Identify improvements to current production processes and implement them.
• Investigate and solve manufacturing and quality problems from faults or external suppliers.
• Take ownership of departmental projects and ensure safe, available equipment for production.

As a LabVIEW Electronics Engineer for our Christchurch location, you will be responsible for the introduction of new products to production, support current production lines and ensure services are always available to production., Assist in Introduction of new products to production

• Actively work with Engineering on all DFM/testability/manufacturability issues and design of new products
• Develop new manufacturing processes and build guides
• Design and produce assembly jigs and fixtures including electrical test boxes
• Layout manufacturing cells with all tooling and services

Support Current Production

• Suggest and implement improvements to current production processes
• Investigate and solve manufacturing problems
• Investigate Quality problems caused by build and external suppliers
• Identify new production methods and tooling
• Design and prototype tooling
• Update Existing Build guides in line with improvements and Engineering changes
• Investigate faults identified by other departments and recommend action to prevent reoccurrence
• Lean tools knowledge and experience (5S, continuous improvement, etc)
• Automation knowledge
• Take ownership for departmental projects
• Ensure services available to production at all times and equipment available and safe to use

• HNC/Degree Engineering discipline (Manufacturing/ /Electronics)
• 5+ years' experience in a similar role in Low/medium/high volume Electro-mechanical manufacturing environment (Less experience/other industry considered)
• Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, Solidworks)
• Knowledge of ERP systems
• Knowledge of material processing processes
• Team player - Can work as part of a dynamic team.
• Good communication skills with all levels of staff across all departments
