Job summary

Curtiss-Wright seeks a LabVIEW Electronics Engineer for its Christchurch, Dorset site. You will introduce new products to production, support current lines and ensure services are available to production.

Key tasks include DFM/testability coordination, developing manufacturing processes, and designing tooling and fixtures. Solid experience with LabVIEW and electro-mechanical manufacturing is required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role in low/medium/high volume electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong LabVIEW software understanding.
  • Electrical fault finding skills.
  • Electrical design of test boxes and circuits.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in introduction of new products to production.
  • Work with Engineering on DFM/testability/manufacturability issues and design of new products.
  • Develop manufacturing processes and build guides.
  • Design and produce assembly jigs and fixtures including electrical test boxes.
  • Layout manufacturing cells with tooling and services.
  • Identify new production methods and tooling and implement improvements.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
  • Take ownership for departmental projects and ensure services are available to production.

We are looking for a LabVIEW Electronics Engineer to join our Christchurch, Dorset team!

As a LabVIEW Electronics Engineer for our Christchurch location, you will be responsible for the introduction of new products to production, support current production lines and ensure services are always available to production.

Your Challenge
  • Assist in Introduction of new products to production
  • Actively work with Engineering on all DFM/testability/manufacturability issues and design of new products
  • Develop new manufacturing processes and build guides
  • Design and produce assembly jigs and fixtures including electrical test boxes
  • Layout manufacturing cells with all tooling and services
  • Suggest and implement improvements to current production processes
  • Investigate and solve manufacturing problems
  • Investigate Quality problems caused by build and external suppliers
  • Identify new production methods and tooling
  • Design and prototype tooling
  • Update Existing Build guides in line with improvements and Engineering changes
  • Investigate faults identified by other departments and recommend action to prevent reoccurrence
  • Lean tools knowledge and experience (5S, continuous improvement, etc)
  • Automation knowledge
  • Take ownership for departmental projects
  • Ensure services available to production at all times and equipment available and safe to use
What You Bring
  • HNC/Degree Engineering discipline (Manufacturing/ /Electronics)
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role in Low/medium/high volume Electro-mechanical manufacturing environment (Less experience/other industry considered)
  • Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, Solidworks)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Knowledge of material processing processes
  • Team player - Can work as part of a dynamic team.
  • Good communication skills with all levels of staff across all departments
  • Electrical fault finding skills
  • Electrical design of test boxes and circuits
  • Understanding of LabView software
