Job summary

Curtiss-Wright invites applications for a Senior Quality Inspector to join our Christchurch, Dorset site. The role involves inspecting materials, components and finished builds to customer specs and standards.

You will work in a small quality team, using CMMs and vision systems, produce FAIRs, and interact with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues. Hybrid working, paid time off and development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a quality role within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance and ISO 9001 / AS9100.
• Working knowledge of CMMs, Vici Vision and Keyence inspection systems.
• Proficient PC skills and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of materials, parts and finished goods to customer specifications and standards.
• Perform routine inspections and check for defects per company procedures.
• Use measuring equipment including CMMs, Vici Vision and Keyence with high accuracy and precision.
• Produce First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) internally and externally.
• Liaise with customers and the supply chain to resolve issues.
• Support workload planning for production, engineering and investigations including SPC data.

As a Senior Quality Inspector, working within a small quality team, you will be undertaking the quality inspection of manufactured goods ensuring they are built to customer specifications, industry standards and regulations.

Your Challenge

• Carrying out inspections of materials, parts and finished build inspections.
• Performing routine inspections and checking for defects in accordance with the Company’s procedures.
• Using measuring equipment including CMMs, Vici Vision, Keyence to measure to a high level of accuracy and precision.
• Producing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), internally and externally.
• Liaising with customers and the supply chain on any issues and working to solve them.
• Support and help manage workloads for production needs, engineering needs and various investigations including MSA & Statistical Analysis studies and complying of SPC data to improve supplier quality.

What You Bring

• Experience in a quality role within an engineering / manufacturing industry.
• Good understanding of quality assurance and ISO 9001 / AS9100.
• Working knowledge of CMMs, Vici Vision, Keyence and other handheld inspection equipment.
• Competent use of PC.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to read and understand technical engineering drawings.
