Job Description:

We are currently seeking interim Laboratory Technicians to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is based at our client's scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral, easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role for 6 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation is competitive, between £24,700 - £27,445 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

This Laboratory Technician (Fragrance Lab Compounder) role involves working across all Unilever Business Groups globally, collaborating with fragrance R&D teams. The main task is to formulate accurately to a given recipe, requiring high attention to detail in repetitive tasks.

You will work as part of a team and independently in a multi-cultural environment, following procedures and safety guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

• Accurately weigh materials according to recipes and order of addition
• Record all laboratory work precisely, including labelling
• Handle and store raw materials safely
• Coordinate with team members on stock levels and requirements
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and calibration
• Follow safety and lab management procedures (Risk Assessment, Health & Safety, Standard Procedures)
• Update project teams on challenges and timelines

Required skills include practical laboratory experience, curiosity in fragrances, teamwork, safety awareness, motivation, attention to detail, clear communication, digital literacy, and adaptability to changing priorities.
