Lab Technician - Geological and Mining Services department (6-Month Contract)

Location: Leicestershire

Salary: Around £25,000 per annum

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 6 months (potential for extension)

Hours: 36.25 per week (Mon-Fri) 7am-3pm

Seeking a Lab Technician to join its Geological and Mining Services department on a 6-month contract basis. This role is ideal for graduates looking to gain hands‑on laboratory experience in a global materials company.

Role Overview

You will support geology-related testing activities, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis to assist internal teams and projects. The role involves working in a laboratory environment and maintaining high standards of health & safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform geology-related laboratory tests, including crushing and milling of rock samples and analysis of pulp samples using wet chemistry, IC, LOI and XRF methods.
  • Accurately record, analyse, and interpret experimental data.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports for internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety and quality management systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate testing support.
