Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Lab Infrastructure Engineer in Ipswich for a 6-month, on-site contract. The role focuses on developing Python automation scripts, building CPE test environments, and supporting broadband/home gateway testing within Agile teams.

You will work with Linux, Docker, VM environments, and RF/wireless tech to deliver next-generation broadband solutions in a lab setting.

Qualifications

• Strong Python experience
• Linux administration knowledge
• Docker and containerisation
• Virtual machine environments
• Git / GitLab
• Agile and Scrum environments
• Broadband technologies including FTTP, xDSL, IPv4/IPv6, PPP, Wi-Fi, UPnP, 4G/5G
• CPE / Home Gateway testing experience
• RF fundamentals
• Wireless networking expertise
• Telecoms industry experience

Responsibilities

• Developing Python-based automation test scripts
• Building and improving CPE test environments
• Supporting broadband and home gateway product testing
• Working within Agile delivery teams
• Troubleshooting complex technical issues
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Using Git, GitLab and JIRA to support delivery
