Job summary

Randstad Technologies Recruitment in Ipswich is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to drive automated testing of embedded firmware for next-generation home connectivity devices. This 12-month contract role is hybrid in Ipswich, UK.

You will leverage Robot Framework and Python to automate verification, and work with Linux, Docker, VMs and GitLab in an Agile setting. Ideal candidates have strong hardware testing background and a passion for delivering reliable broadband routers and Wi‑Fi

Qualifications

• Experience testing embedded firmware, IoT devices or Hardware-in-the-Loop.
• Deep knowledge of Wi‑Fi and Router/CPE testing (Broadband, IPv4/IPv6).
• Hands-on automation coding with Robot Framework and Python.
• Experience with Linux, Docker, VMs and GitLab in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Test embedded firmware inside home connectivity devices to ensure reliability.
• Collaborate in an Agile team to automate tests and improve coverage.

Contract: QA Automation Engineer (Embedded Firmware & Wi‑Fi)

I am partnering with a major UK technology brand to find a Senior QA Automation Engineer for a 12-month contract.

Location: Ipswich, UK (Hybrid)

In this role, you will be testing the embedded firmware inside next‑generation home connectivity devices, ensuring the latest Broadband Smart Hubs and Wi‑Fi routers perform flawlessly for millions of customers.

What you need to bring to the table:

• Hardware Testing: Proven experience testing embedded firmware, IoT devices, or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL).
• Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of Wi‑Fi and Router/CPE testing (Broadband, FTTP, 4G/5G, IPv4/IPv6).
• Automation: Strong hands‑on coding experience using Robot Framework and Python.
• Infrastructure: Comfortable working with Linux, Docker, VMs, and GitLab in an Agile environment.
