Job summary

Flint UK Technology Services is seeking an experienced Lab Infrastructure test engineer to develop automation scripts, maintain CPE test environments, and deliver high-impact resolutions within an Agile team. The role requires strong Python skills, Linux, Docker, and experience with CI/CD tools.

You will work across cross-domain issues, provide QA oversight, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-moving telecoms context.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in automated test development and scripting.
• Maintaining and improving CPE test environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex cross-domain issues.
• Quality assurance oversight for multiple engineers in matrix structure.
• Comfortable working in Agile delivery squads and using Jira/Wiki.

Job description

My client, a global telecoms provider is currently looking for an experienced Lab Infrastructure test engineer to do the following:

• Develop automation test scripts for our next generation converged products and services
• Maintaining and improving CPE platform test environments.
• Deliver resolutions to problems that tend to be complex, cross-domain or of high impact to customers.
• Provide technical quality assurance over work of other engineers through Matrix team structure
• Working effectively as part of Agile delivery squads
• Using scrum/JIRA/Wiki for tracking agile workflow deliveries
• Supporting proactive improvement initiatives
• Strong Knowledge of python
• Knowledge of VMs and Containerisation
• Knowledge of Linux and Docker
• Experience maintaining and improving CPE platform test environments
• Using code revision, issue tracking and continuous integration tools, ie git, JIRA, Gitlab
• Good knowledge of Agile delivery methods and tools, eg scrum/JIRA/wiki
• Good knowledge of Broadband/Home Gateway standards, eg xDSL, FTTP, IPv4/IPv6, PPP, Wi-Fi, UPnP, 4G/5G mobile networks
• Good understanding of RF fundamentals and wireless networking concepts.
