Rubicon Consulting is recruiting a Test Automation Engineer for a 6 Months Rolling Contract, located in the East of England. You will develop automation test scripts for our next generation broadband products and services, and work within UK-based agile squads alongside software and networking engineers.

The role requires extensive Robot Framework and Python experience, plus Linux/containerisation and CI tooling knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience with Robot Framework and Python scripting for automation.
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments and container tech (Docker).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and issue tracking (Git/JIRA/Gitlab).
• Understanding broadband/home gateway standards and networking basics.

Responsabilités

• Develop automation test scripts for next generation broadband products and services.
• Deliver resolutions to complex cross-domain testing issues with high impact.
• Provide QA oversight of peers' work within matrix or agile teams.
• Work effectively within UK-based Agile delivery squads.
• Utilise Scrum/JIRA/Wiki to track and manage agile deliverables.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in testing and automation.

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Test Automation Engineer on a 6 Months Rolling Contract, located in the East of England.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the testing and delivery of applications that support our next generation Broadband CPE, including Broadband Smart Hubs, Complete Wi-Fi and Hybrid Connect (4G) modems.

You will need to work effectively as part of UK based agile squads, responsible for the testing of cutting edge client applications and embedded devices, working alongside highly skilled software and networking developers and testers, within the Broadband Devices tribe.

What you will be doing (Role Accountabilities)

• Develop automation test scripts for our next generation converged products and services
• Deliver resolutions to problems that tend to be complex, cross-domain or of high impact to customers.
• Provide technical quality assurance over work of other engineers through matrix team structure
• Working effectively as part of Agile delivery squads
• Using scrum/JIRA/Wiki for tracking agile workflow deliveries
• Supporting proactive improvement initiatives

What you'll need to succeed (Skills & Experience)

• Extensive knowledge of Robot Framework
• Knowledge of python
• Knowledge of VMs and Containerisation
• Knowledge of Linux and Docker
• Using code revision, issue tracking and continuous integration tools, i.e. git, JIRA, Gitlab
• Good knowledge of Agile delivery methods and tools, e.g. scrum/JIRA/wiki
• Good knowledge of Broadband/Home Gateway standards, e.g. xDSL, FTTP, IPv4/IPv6, PPP, Wi‑Fi, UPnP, 4G/5G mobile networks
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical material
• Ability to self‑develop in required areas
